Sexy Shinies! ~ NippleCharms Nipple Embracers

I'm a klutz.  I've always fancied body piercing, but given my skill at breaking myself without any sharp implements in range, I'd wind up being that person who gets a piercing ripped out.  So, my lust for standard body jewelry denied, I was intrigued when I spotted a picture on FetLife a few years ago of someone who had no-pierce shields that were every bit as pretty.  But, foiled again, I could only find them at horrific prices, or sold by people who thought that shipping from the US to the UK should cost three times as much as the product did.  Curses and such!  Then, the lovely TruePleasures hosted a competition to win a pair of Claddagh-style embracers, but had to be restricted to US only.  However, she'd included some links to the NippleCharms site, and after having a browse around, I spotted that their prices were reasonable, and not only that, but so was their international shipping rates!  Bingo!

I managed to resist for...ooh, about three hours.  And then proceeded to torment the postie for the next week and a half, because not that I don't trust USPS, but their tracking is a bit hit and miss.  As in it still says it's in JFK.  Oh well!  They did actually arrive within the estimated time, and bonus of no customs to pay (I was lying awake at night worrying if that'd balls it up).
Pair, boxed.
Depending on the design you choose, they may come singularly or as a pair, so be sure to keep an eye out for that.  The heart-patterned crystal-set embracers I chose were solos, so I ordered two to make the set.  The packaging was fairly simple, just a plastic blister box with a card backing and the jewelry loose inside, but with a cute cream net storage pouch and a card included in the envelope.  Despite appearing so delicate, and being fragile enough that there's a warning on the box backing about stretching them, the pieces aren't so fragile as to be at risk from being loose within the plastic box, especially as they were well cushioned in the bubble-wrap of the envelope.

When I lifted the out, I was a little surprised at how small they looked.  Given all the notes on the site about how they still worked for ladies with petite nips, I had assumed they'd look larger.  I was actually a little worried, as I do find that my nipples, while not exactly freakishly large, are bigger than average, and are rather 'spread' in shape.  That's one of the reasons I find nipple clamps so finnicky, as by the time I find one with that'll open wide enough to get my nipple inside, it doesn't have enough grip to fight the sloped shaping that slides it slowly off.  Determined that they'd fit, I mimicked the video instruction and placed the embracer over my nipple, pinched the nipple 'bulb' through it, and pulled.  But, unlike the video, there was no pop as it slid into place: my nipple wrestled free, and the embracer sat unattached and taunting me.  However, from pulling it, I had seen clearly that it'd fit, it was just my shaping that was making gripping my nipple tight enough a bit of a nightmare.  Eventually, I settled on a solution that was decidedly ungraceful, but effective: if, instead of trying to grasp and pull my nipple with my fingers, I formed a seal around it with my mouth and sucked, it pulled taut enough that I could wriggle the embracer into place surprisingly easily.  Once I'd hit upon the method, it took mere seconds to get them on after that.  Which is good, because despite how I'm sure someone somewhere finds the idea of sucking on your own nipples a turn on, it is not something that should be done in public by people who are lurchy and unbalanced as I.  But, as long as I can do the attaching part in private, no more needs to be said of the self-suckling hippo.  Point is, don't give up at the first hurdle, as nipples are slippery things - the drink had to be inspired by something! - and rather uniquely shaped, so it's important to fiddle about and find out what works best.  Taking them off was no problem, they popped off just as they should.

Shinies attached!
Once that was over, it was easier to focus on just how pretty they really are.  Each is slightly curved, so that it'll hug the natural contour of the breast when pushed to the base of the nipple, and the metal is so light that, apart from the part that was gripping around my nipple, I couldn't feel any weight or pressure at all.  The little gems really catch the light, without being plentiful enough that they look gaudy.  And the metal itself is well polished and cleanly finished.  The inner ring is noticeable when it's on, as the whirls mean it grips in at certain points instead of evenly all around.  I didn't find it at all painful or even uncomfortable, although I do have a high tolerance, but it was enough to leave several small dents in the nipple when I removed the embracers after less than half an hour.  These faded quickly, and never displayed any colour change or increased sensitivity while re-inflating, so they're clearly not even close to too tight, even on Big Nipple Chick.

I wore them for only twenty minutes the first time, as I was unsure how my nipples would take to them (my skin is a timorous beastie, and especially sensitive parts like my nipples are prone to kicking up a fuss over nothing), but when there was no cause for alarm, with the colouring of my nipples staying rosy, and there being neither an increase in pain nor a decrease in sensation, I started wearing them for longer periods, up to several hours with no problem.  While wearing them, I was more enjoying the visual side of it, having my nipples thrust out to the air and unable to retreat.  And, having them pert and ready to be played with has its own obvious positives.  After wearing them for a while, there was a slight increase in sensitivity, although whether that's from the pressure or from having them forced to stay in such an exposed position for so long, who can say.  Actually, who cares; end result is that they look pretty, feel good, and have the potential to dial up the fun of nipple play.  I'm quite keen to get more, and as soon as I'm no longer flat broke, I'll be trying to find a way to finagle some cash for a different pair.  After all, they did cost just over £20 sterling, which isn't exactly bank-breaking.

All set for a night of fun and flashing!

Rating:

Postage costs and times were reasonable, even US to UK, and much better than the average ($10, 6-10 days);
Price in general is good, with these ones coming in at $10.95 each, and cheaper jewelry available;
Packaging was discrete, secure, and minimal (a positive to me and my overfilled bins);
Appearance is beautiful, even for someone who doesn't like pink I had to have these as they perfectly set off a pasty complexion such as my own, and the overall design is delicate and intricate, without being overly fussy;
Comfort is ideal: if it weren't for the fact that my fellow students wouldn't appreciate losing their eyes I'd happily wear these every day;
Ease of use is a bit tricky until you can work out what way works for you, and even then it may not be a move you wish to share, but they're simple enough to get the hang of, and as that's literally the only thing I can dock a mark for, I can live with that.
